It’s an interesting time to be in the rental equipment industry. Demand for landscaping and underground construction work is at an all-time high and manufacturers like Ditch Witch have been talking to customers and doing their part in keeping up with that demand. Beyond that, the world is coming out of a pandemic and looking ahead to the future. Here are two developments that rental yards should be aware of in today’s industry.
Demand Surge
Underground construction and landscape projects are in high demand. With COVID-19 pushing many people to remote-work, home renovation projects became very popular. The rise of remote work also pushed the importance of 5G installation across rural and urban areas. Now that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, new opportunities for compact equipment and vacuum excavator rental are only growing. Rental yard owners should be aware of this surge and prepare their inventory accordingly.
Growth of Alternate Machines
While traditional machines like trenchers and stand-on skid steers are still the most popular machines in the rental industry, alternate solutions like vacuum excavators are growing in popularity because of their high ROI and versatility. In fact, vacuum excavators are becoming very recognizable even by typical homeowners. This is something rental yard owners should be aware of as more individuals may be coming to their shop looking for vacs. Rental yard owners should also be aware of the rise in alternate energy machines.
