G&W Construction Company Inc., with the help of Ditch Witch Mid-States, recently made the historic purchase of the new Ditch Witch AT120 All Terrain Directional Drill, the first to be sold in North America. This acquisition reflects G&W’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements but also solidifies its position as a reliable and efficient player in the underground construction sector.

The industry’s largest and most powerful All Terrain directional drill, the AT120 is designed for maximum uptime. It features a displacement fluid pump for added fluid flow; an integrated wireline platform that allows greater access when connecting wire; and open top, angled front wrenches that bring greater visibility of machine functions during operation. With a noise level of only 80 DbA, clearer communication on the jobsite improves safety and productivity.
“It’s a very quiet machine and will allow us to work in urban job sites where we would have been restricted in the past,” said Chase Alderman of G&W Construction Company Inc.
The AT120’s All Terrain technology enables rock drilling at a low fluid level, decreasing jobsite waste, minimizing cleanup and reducing environmental impact, according to Ditch Witch. The machine is powered by a 280 hp Stage V Cummins engine; has 120,000 lbs. of thrust/pullback; 15,500 ft. lbs. of rotational torque; and an additional 3,000 ft. lbs. of inner rotational torque.
