PERRY, Okla., Oct. 12, 2016 – Ditch Witch®, a Charles Machine Works company, hosted 140 high school freshmen on Tuesday, October 11 to recognize National Manufacturing Day™. Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing and focused on inspiring the next generation of manufacturers. More than 2,600 events were planned in 2016 worldwide to celebrate the manufacturing industry.
Students from Perry High School and Morrison High School received a tour of the Ditch Witch facilities. Ditch Witch partnered with Meridian Technology Center to coordinate the event. On the tour, students were able to hear from members of the Ditch Witch leadership team, as well as several different departments to learn more about careers offered and education requirements. Students received lunch and also got to experience the thrill of the Super Witch® in action.
“We enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local high school students and hope each student walked away with a better understanding of manufacturing careers,” said Ditch Witch President, Dennis Wierzbicki. “We take pride in working here, so it comes natural for our employees to share that enthusiasm with students, visitors, and customers. It is important that we educate future generations so that we do our part in helping secure the prosperity of the manufacturing industry.”
The Ditch Witch factory has been named “Oklahoma Great Companies to Work For” by Oklahoma Magazine for three consecutive years.
